18S: How to set with LYD speakers

A few tips to set your 18S with a pair of LYD monitors

The 18S preset for LYD models is designed to add a bass extension to LYD when they are set to +10 Hz. (bass extension switch). The HPF should not be activated on the 18S.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Ensure that the subwoofer is positioned correctly, ideally at the same distance as the LYD speakers are from the ears. see 18S manual for more tips.

  • You can use the 18S position parameter to adjust if the distance is not exactly the same. The distance parameter works when the 18S is inserted between the interface and the LYD or if it uses a separate output from a speaker controller, it should be placed closer to the listening position.
  • Use the 18S preset for your  LYD model
  • Do not activate the 80 HPF on the 18S.

  • Set the bass extension to +10Hz on your LYD's
