Do my Focus XD speakers need to "run in"?

Yes. Speakers generate sound by the movement of air with their tweeters and woofers. Until these drivers have reached their full movement and their full sound quality, they require several hours of run-in time. 

You can use the speakers directly after unpacking; however, the sound will continue to improve with listening to music.
