Focus XD | FAQ - Connectivity

Focus XD: how is the signal transmitted between the speakers?

1. Direct IN - Wireless

Audio and Control Signal between Master and Slave speaker runs at 5.2 GHz. Regardless of Zone setting (Red/Green/Blue), the actual frequency band used is automatically determined based on signal quality. Signal is lossless, 24 bit 96 kHz. All incoming signals are converted to this rate in the Master.

Only one Slave is supported.

2. Direct In - Analogue input

Control Signal between Master and Slave speaker runs at 5.2 GHz. Regardless of Zone setting (Red/Green/Blue), the actual frequency band used is automatically determined based on signal quality.

Left and Right analog signal is connected directly to Left and Right speaker. All incoming signals are converted internally to 24/192 in each speaker.

For Control reasons, one speaker should be Master and the other should be Slave.

3. Direct In - External setting

With “Channel Mode” set to “External”, the speaker behaves like a normal active speaker. There is no communication between the speakers, and the volume level is set to full.

Important: the volume control must be done in the source.

Input can be either SPDIF or Analog. All incoming signals are converted internally to 24/192 in each speaker.
