A loudspeaker hat trick

Written by Christopher Kjærulff | Jun 14, 2022 7:45:04 AM

Last Monday was an especially good Monday. At the annual What Hi-Fi? Awards, we took home three prizes including the Product of the Year award for the Emit M20. The M20 also won its own category Best Standmount Speaker £400-800 while the already critically acclaimed Xeo 2 speaker system bagged the win in the category Best Active Speaker.

Both speakers had been nominated in the respective categories because of their excellent 5-star reviews in What Hi-Fi? during 2016:

Emit M20 – Product of the Year

In August, What Hi-Fi? published their second review of the Emit series, focusing on the M20 standmount - a review that came in the wake of the smaller M10 winning a Group Test and receiving its own 5-starred review. They wrote:

With both the M10 and M20 bookshelves receiving five-star reviews and Group Test-winning status, it’s a thoroughly impressive two for two for the Emit series.

“If you, or rather your room, determines that the more scale, dynamic range and bass the better, the M20s are bang on the money.”

Awards:
- Product of the Year, Stereo Speakers
- Best standmount speaker £400-800

Xeo 2 – Best Active Speaker

The Xeo 2 speaker system has already made its mark on the business with several top-notch reviews from around the world. What Hi-Fi? wrote in theirs:

Versatile, easy to house and packing a hugely accomplished sound worthy of their asking price, the Dynaudio Xeo 2s are a near-complete system in a speaker’s clothing – and a great one at that, whatever your source.

Award:
- Best Active Speaker

Each year, What Hi-Fi?, celebrates the best products across 27 different categories with 102 individual winners, showcasing the best Hi-Fi, home cinema, and portable audio products on the market.
