Dynaudio Unheard at the Midem festival

Picture it…

... you’re an up-and-coming artist, you’ve been chosen to take a slot in the Dynaudio Unheard recording studio, and you’re waiting to hear where the venue will be. Nervous? Maybe a little.

The email arrives. It’s Cannes… right by the beach at the Midem festival. In front of the collected faces (and ears) of some of the most important movers and shakers in the music biz. Nervous? Maybe a lot.

You’re finally in the studio, in the sun, tuned up and ready to rock. Your headphones click as the talkback mic comes on in the control room. “OK guys, let’s go for a take…” Opportunities don’t get much bigger than this.

Nervous? No time to be. Let’s do it.

A celebration of music

Midem is the leading international event for the music business. Every year, thousands of bigwigs, ones-to-watch and all-new startups descend on the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (which you might recognise from the famous Cannes Film Festival) to shape the direction of the industry.

It’s a place where deals are struck, technology is showcased, big-breaks are granted… and, most crucially, music is celebrated.

It’s about much more than suits. Like Dynaudio Unheard, Midem makes artists a priority through its Artist Hub; Midem Beach showcase stage; masterclasses, panels and workshops; and Artist Accelerator and Songwriting Camp.

And that’s why they’ve asked us to join them with the Dynaudio Unheard studio. We’re right outside the Palais des Festivals – you can’t miss us – showcasing, as ever, the best new artists. We’ll be using our high-end Core professional reference monitors in the control-room, as well as our stellar LYD personal reference monitors in the studio itself – with resident producer Ashley Shepherd manning the faders.

Check back here for regular updates, videos, masterclasses and more. Welcome to Cannes.

Midem 2019: June 4th – June 7th

This year we have a bonanza of artists in the studio, starting every day at 11am CET and running all the way until midnight.

You can look forward to acts including La Chica, Alexander Oscar, Lions Head, Bo Ningen, Acidio Pantera and more – plus exclusive seminars on songwriting, sound-engineering and producing.

Visit our YouTube page now for more live sessions – and check back in the next few days for some exclusive talks given by industry insiders at Midem.
