She released her first single ‘Battle Royale’ in 2015, since then Ecca Vandal has been an artist to watch on the contemporary punk and heavy rock scene. Ecca was born in South Africa to Sri Lankan parents, but grew up in Melbourne, Australia due to refugee crisis and apartheid. Her cultural heritage shaped her approach to music which contains genres such as jazz, punk and hiphop mixed with a raw and immediate gut reaction to creation.
