Opus One is the centrepiece of a home music ecosystem. Its 186cm wingspan is designed to integrate perfectly with 83in TVs, and houses cutting-edge audio tech for music, movies and gaming. Its precision-machined, aircraft-grade aluminium-alloy frame is covered with a tactile, Nordic-inspired fabric to blend in with modern homes and listening rooms.
The 72 motorised wooden fins (handmade by our friends at high-end furniture company Karimoku) come to life, gently moving to display the current listening mode. They also conceal 24 drive-units (six soft-dome tweeters, 14 mid/bass drivers and four innovative dual-diaphragm force-cancelling subwoofers). The system is powered by a massive 1500W of digital amplification, and marshalled by proprietary Dynaudio spatial-audio processing algorithms.
The system has been designed to be incredibly easy to use, with no special audio knowledge needed. During set-up, a microphone built into the included remote control is used to help Opus One sense where it’s been placed in the room (on an equipment stand, mounted on a wall or in free space), and then the system takes it from there – optimising its acoustic performance for that specific position.
Opus One will initially be available for sale in Denmark and China, before rolling out to other territories globally. The base model will cost €13,000 RRP, with stands and mounting accessories costing between €500 and €5000.
It’s available in two finishes: one with White Oak fins, and another with Appalachian Walnut.
You can see and hear it at the new Dynaudio brand showroom at Møntergade 19, Copenhagen or, if you aren’t local, read more on our dedicated Opus One page.
