It’s the best speaker range Dynaudio has ever produced, and it’s packed with science specifically developed to honour art. Original drivers – including the mighty Esotar3 tweeter – combine with a precision composite baffle, innovative cabinet design and optimised crossover to create the most advanced passive speaker in our history. Intensive analysis in our Jupiter measuring facility has resulted in the next-generation of Dynaudio’s DDC sound-beaming technology – including the DDC Lens waveguide system. The Esotar3 tweeter in the DDC Lens works in tandem with the NeoTec woofers, the radical Horizon midrange driver surround and the innovative Compex baffle to ensure music goes exactly where you want it: your ears.
But you won’t focus on the tech – you’ll be lost in the music.

The science of art
Our flagship Confidence series has been a consistent award-winner and object of audio lust since 2018 – but laurels aren’t for resting on, so we gave ourselves the job of improving it. That was no easy task, but eight years of dedicated R&D has shown that it really is possible to improve on perfection. And that you really can cause goosebumps to rise on the arms of a heard-it-all-before acoustic engineer.
We’re proud to introduce Confidence 20i, Confidence 30i and Confidence 50i.
Tweeter upgrade: Esotar 3i
The new Esotar 3i tweeter is the best we’ve ever made. It’s more nuanced, more precise, more powerful and more captivating than ever. That’s thanks to improvements in the magnet assembly and a brand-new, carefully composed recipe for the ferrofluid in the motor system.
It’s still the sweet, easy-to-listen-to Esotar sound you know and love, but now it delivers even more detail; the kind that reveals even more of your music – no matter how well you know it.
Directivity upgrade:
DDC 3.0
Dynaudio Directivity Control (DDC) appeared in 1999’s Evidence speakers and 2001’s Confidence C2 and C4, then received an overhaul in the 2018 Confidence. It’s a system designed to ‘beam’ sound directly to you, in your chair, instead of letting it bounce off the floor and ceiling. It means you hear exactly what your speaker is playing, and less of what your room tries to add to the performance.
Now, it’s been upgraded again. The new DDC Lens on Confidence 30i and Confidence 50i have been redesigned for even better horizontal dispersion and a wider, deeper soundstage. Meanwhile, Confidence 20i has a brand-new DDC Lens to help its Esotar 3i tweeter sing.
Crossover upgrade: pure and simple
We strive for simplicity. Confidence i’s new crossover has been stripped down and optimised for directivity, an even power response and improved dynamics. We worked with our friends at Duelund to upgrade the capacitors, and worked with ourselves to invent an entirely new component – the patent-pending Dynaudio UltraPrecision Array resistor.
You’ll hear the result immediately: it’s the kind of clarity and punch that keep you listening long after you forget the speakers are even there.
