How do I connect Xeo to a subwoofer?
Wireless solution (discontinued)
Xeo 2, Xeo 10, Xeo 20, Xeo 30: You need a Xeo Hub or a Xeo Connect and a Xeo Link. An active subwoofer can then be connected to the outputs of the Xeo Link. However, the Xeo Link and the Xeo Connect are today discontinued so Dynaudio can't offer these components for sale.
Xeo 4 / Xeo 6 (Hub) can be extended by an active subwoofer with a Xeo Link. Please also refer to page 13 of the Xeo manual.
Xeo 3 / Xeo 5 (Xeo Transmitter) can not be extended by a subwoofer.
Wired solution
The only option today:
If you are using the Xeo as classic wired amplified speakers, you can insert a wired subwoofer such as the SUB 3 or the SUB 6 in the signal chain, between a source (e.g. a streamer or a preamp) and the Xeo.
- Connect the source stereo outputs to the inputs of the subwoofer
- Connect the subwoofer outputs to the Xeo Master analogue inputs or the Transmitter/Hub/ Connect analogue inputs
-
the volume must be controlled from the source and the Xeo should have fixed volume.
-
The sub and the Xeo must be calibrated (in level and for crossovers) and correctly positioned from each other for the best alignment.
Note: If your Xeo can receive a bluetooth signal (Xeo 2, 10,20,30), the subwoofer will not get that signal and will not produce any audio.
